David Barr is very active in the Central Texas area.  He was the 1999-2000 Chairman of the Board of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, the 2000-2001 President of the Killeen Industrial Foundation-a non-profit organization dedicated to enhance economic development in Killeen, and served on the Board of the Killeen Economic Development Corporation from 2001-2007. He is a former member of the Boards of the Killeen Reinvestment Zone, Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce and the Vive Les Arts Society. David was chosen Fort Hood’s civilian liaison for housing for the local area from 1991-1999 as Fort Hood prepared to privatize their housing.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors for First Texas Bank of Killeen & Copperas Cove.

David was the 1992 and 1996 President of the Fort Hood Area Association of REALTORS®, Inc. and was elected Broker of the Year in 1989.

As a full time commercial broker who operates a commercial brokerage and management company, David is well versed in city politics and facilitates smooth transactions while assisting large and small companies with site selection and development, leasing, management, sales, tax deferred exchanges, dispositions, sale/lease back and build to suit properties. David also handles farm and ranch properties.

While assisting developers and owners, with projects such as the new 90+ acre development in Harker Heights-Market Heights, he has earned the reputation of the “go to” commercial broker in the area.  He has been involved in bringing users, developers and owners together for development sites of Walgreen’s; TARGET, TOYS ‘R US;   Texas Land and Cattle; Logan’s; Boston’s Gourmet Pizza; several Sonics & Wendy’s sites; 2 Golden Corral's; a 14 acre Expressway development site; 3 Low Income Elderly Tax Credit Projects; several small neighborhood shopping centers; a former Wal-Mart; Wall’s factory store; AT&T/ATI; Sallie Mae, Convergys and many others.  David has established himself as the leading commercial broker in the area. He has leased over 100,000 square feet of retail and office space in the area to various businesses.
